United Nations personnel have had an earthquake forecasting group operational in the People’s Republic of China for some time. They now have another one in the Philippines. Although those are U.N. sponsored programs, technically speaking, I understand that funding for them actually comes from governments and private sources. Even the following U.N. So, they have developed an earthquake forecast data evaluation program called ESTAPE which you can read about at that Web site. It is my understanding that their program is presently being revised. And they are interested in comparing notes with other researchers in this field.
