Ml 3.7 shakes Mammoth Lakes region

A Ml 3.7 earthquake shook the Mammoth Lakes CA region today. This is the largest
event in the area since a similar Ml 3.7 hit in the region on July 17, 1999 two and a half
years ago. More will be available in the daily summary, however, this appears to be
a combination blow from a moderate geomagnetic storm this afternoon and Far-field
triggering from Mindanao. There were several foreshocks last night the largest of which
was a Ml 2.8.
