Re: Don's Parkfield forecast and tonight's earthquake |
Hi Lowell & Don, Due to the lack of computers in Parkfield I had to record my ear tones by pen and paper and I'm pleased to announce I matched my two closest ear tones heard in Parkfield as follows: 3/3/02 9:35PM Left ear tone, 1 second, high pitch, very low in volume Match 3/6/02 2.5 7:09PM PST 12 miles NW of Parkfield 3/4/02 12:06AM Left ear tone, 1/4 second, very low in volume Match 3/6/02 1.4 8:13AM PST 7 miles NW of Parkfield I also got a match on the following: 3/2/02 5:40PM R ear tone, 4 seconds strong with 5 seconds trailing, slight granite sound, nearly medium volume. Match 3/5/02 2:23PM 3.2 9 miles ENE Tokop, NV I have two remaining tones unmatched from the time I was in Parkfield. One left ear tone and one right ear tone. So congrats to Don, he was expecting those quakes and my hearing confirmed they were coming. One of these days we are going to be someplace, hopefully in Parkfield and have that earthquake chasing event. But one little detail we forgot to mention in the post below was that there has been a strange anomoly being reported in Parkfield before large earthquakes. Its called a "Pull." It is not understood, no one knows what it is, but just before large earthquakes people get a sensation of literally being pulled by a physical force. I mentioned to Don one of the days we were in Parkfield that I got a sensation I recognized that occurred here around the Rodgers Creek Fault. I felt like I had a sense of head pressure in the back of my head, equivalent to the size of a skull cap in radius. Before the 4.2 here in 1999 I had that sensation and I had it in Parkfield also. So its curious that it happens near active earthquake faults. Petra
