Re: Earthquake Summary for March 5, 2002 |
Hi Lowell, I wanted to express my heartfelt thanks for the many hours you have spent bringing important historical events forward, current data to our attention and giving us an upswing on what may lie ahead. This morning I was remembering the dream I had about the very intense earthquake in the mountains which occurred a few days before the Afghanistan earthquake. While these types of dreams have no use at all in earthquake prediction in that they lack all the specifics necesssary, they do remind me that the Human/Earth connection is still present. I thought of those in Afghanistan and the Phillipines as well and thought the residents there may well have had their own premitory dreams. They may have had a little flashes of intuition to do some things they haven't done in a while, perhaps some of them hear ear tones like I do and thus the subtle clues were there for them. Culture plays a large role in acceptance of premonitions. While we in modern society foo foo these things for the most part, those who live in other parts of the world "know" the harbingers of danger. So I thought perhaps in these other countries it might have been possible that maybe one person might have had a dream, a vision, an ear tone, or what have you and they may have imparted this information to their family. Could it be that maybe 20 people listened and believed and were saved? Surely, it must be possible. On Monday morning in Parkfield Don told me he had a thought that he should bring his gun with him that day. That was after he had received this thought twice. I just looked at him and said, "bring it. The fact that you got the thought means you should act on it." I have no idea how we receive this warning, but I know as a multiple survivor of many scary events, you don't ask, you just do. In understanding the Human/Earth connection in relationship to earthquake warnings, we have to be willing to go the distance. Learn as much as possible, get out and see what earthquake patterns look like, ask and ask those who have knowledge in differing disciplines and leave the door open for the new questions that will come forward. No one can know it all. While Don and I know that not everyone has time to get out and do field study, attend seminars and visit with scientists the way we do, we have hoped that in sharing our field experiences we could impart some important information and also share the best parts of field study. Earthquake prediction in my opinion is a very large and complex puzzle. I am and have always been a person who loves assembling puzzles, therefore despite the degree of difficulty, I love the process. But Lowell, you make understanding a lot of this process much easier for all of us here. I wanted you to know, I've never taken it for granted and I have a great appreciation for your time and your efforts.
