Re: Don's Burney forecast and the Susanville 3.1 this morning |
Hi Lowell. This most recent 3.1 just north of Susanville is the first 3.1Ml since 1977 and it's almost at the same location as the one in 1977. I found no records of any quake larger then 3.1Ml for that location nor did I find anything smaller then that one quake. This is based on an 8Km radius. Do you remember the theory about the Walker Lane Belt I gave you a couple of years ago? This quake and the one in 1977 fit into that theory. There may be no connection here, but it was after the quake in 1977 that we had the 5.9Ml in Morgan Hill, the eruption of Mount Saint Helen's and the increase in activity at Long Valley Caldera. I'm kind of curious as to what your thoughts may be in regards to this most recent quake.
