The large number is due almost entirely to aftershocks to Calexico and swarms in Salton Sea area-otherwise, the numbers would be pretty average. I think the numbers got that high or higher a couple months ago when there was a 5(?) in the San Jacinto system. Or, the numbers would be in the thousands after Northridge or Hector Mine, and they were not followed by anything more than aftershocks. So, I don't think you can call for a big quake just based on the fact that there are lots of aftershocks. We'll see what Lowell has to say. Chris
