After nearly a week of low seismicity in the California region a Ml 3.3 occurred
in the Calexico region this afternoon. Coincidentally, this occurred shortly after an
M1.0 flare occurred on the sun, breaking a long silence from that source. The geomagnetic
field also showed activity following that flare. For more information on the flare see:
