Some people probably feel that earthquake sensitivity related phenomena such as "ear tones" are being deliberately ignored by everyone in the scientific community because all of this is just so much superstition. The following should demonstrate that this is really not the case. One of the Internet Newsgroups to which my February 17, 2002 ear tone related note was submitted was “sci.psychology.research.” This is a moderated Newsgroup. And I see that the people in charge accepted the note for publication. It has already been posted there. This probably does not mean that the moderators regarded anything in the note as proven fact but rather the following: People in the scientific community will usually allow you and will at times even help you discuss new and unusual ideas in a public forum providing what you have to say is somewhat reasonable and is presented with some supporting data which can be examined and perhaps verified. I believe that my note briefly discussed several ear tone theories in a manner that they would be understandable to most people who have a moderately good scientific background. And it contained links which pointed to this bulletin board and to my two Web sites where there are a number of reports which discuss earthquake forecasting type phenomena along with numerous support data. I do not know if the Newsgroup moderators visited this bulletin board or my Web sites. But I suspect that they probably took a quick look. And if so then they apparently concluded that things appeared to be sufficiently well organized that they met their standards. The moral of the story is that the subject matter is not the problem here. Instead, in the past it has probably almost always been a lack of organization. To get accepted people discussing ear tones and other earthquake sensitivity related phenomena basically need to get their theories and data organized. These are my own opinions.
