I have noticed this area too. To be exact, I recall this area becoming active in August. The little dots appeared just like they do now. The of course we had the 4.2 in W. Hollywood (which I heard was on an offshoot of the Newport Inglewood) which increased the micro pops throughout the valley and basin. Then there was Compton, very near the Newport Inglewood (if not on it, I haven't seen a firm source confirming this.) And of course all the activity of late near Simi Valley. Luckily Cal Tech has commented on this so it isn't like we are the only ones. Of course they never go so far as to say that these could be precursors, but they have mentioned that perhaps this is normal and that Northridge and Landers literally turned this area off the past 10 years.

It is times like these that it is too bad we don't have records going back thousands of years to know statistically if this is normal background activity or indeed above the average and perhaps worrysome.
