I have an ear tone match for this quake. Here's what I said in my e-mail to Don in Hollister:

I had a right ear tone at 8:03 tonight. It lasted four seconds and seemed faint and not granite. That places it around King City to the South and if it went East it would be around Markleeville. Can't be very big with the faintness of the sound. I'm guessing in the neighborhood of a 3.5 & up and I think it is more likely south than east.

I have forwarded the e-mail to Canie for verification. The e-mail was sent to him at 10:38PM on 12/27/01.
