Hi All, Just a comment. The safest place to be is in an airplane flying over head and going someplace else, other than where the the earthquake is happening. This statement is true unless one is flying in a light airplane a few miles north of St Helens when it blew as what happened to a friend of mine. He was flying a J3 Cub in dead calm air at about seven thousand feet above sea level flying toward Mt Adams and when the air shock wave hit his plane it fliped upside down I was in both the 65 quake in Seattle as well as the one last year and as far as I am concerned the 65 quake was a much rougher ride.
