Quake Determination Problems With Changes |
Hi All, I can see already with the USGS down, the source of most of our information for quake matchings, we are going to have some disparities. UC Berkeley is listing the Ukiah quake at 4.3, where the scec is at 4.1. Inasmuch as Berkeley is far closer, I would think they would more likely be correct. But Berkeley only has 3 quakes for the area and scec is showing 5. For those making forecasts/or predictions those mags are going to be very important and here we are in the middle of an information crisis. How do we resolve this on our board? It's really up to us at this time I think.
