I have tried to find the newspaper story to this announcement online, sorry, couldn't find it.

They have announced that there are two new active faultlines in our Cook Straight (between North Is & South Is). That takes the tally up to five faultlines running through & between the islands.

They hope this might help fill in a few missing pieces - so to speak.
