Geomagnetic storm arrives, but proton storm extremely powerful still

The geomagnetic storm and CME (at least part of it) from yesterday's X1.0 flare appears to have arrived at about 20:00 UT this afternoon (about 12:00 noon PST). Normally such a storm would have strong effects on the seismicity during the two days following, but these effects may be delayed as the proton storm which started with the X-flare is currently at extremely powerful levels (off the chart so to speak) and electron flux is virtually non-existent. It is the electron flux which can induce telluric currents, and enhanced seismicity is unlikely without it. Wait until that proton storm is over, and then see what happens.
