Re: New Blind Thrust Fault Southern California??? |
This is not surprising. What the heck do they think uplifted the hills in the first place? Also- in addition to the Newport-Inglewood Fault, which is offshore in that area, there's the Compton Thrust zone that I saw diagrammed running from the Hollywood fault to Newport Beach, and showing as the faultline being on shore. My question is this: Are the Compton Thrust belt and the Newport-Inglewood Fault part of the same zone, and is this new "blind thrust" fault just the southward extension of the Compton Thrust Belt/Newport-Inglewood/whatever they are calling it today fault system? (I keep a close eye on a sag pond just down Warner Avenue from my condo. I would like to know which fault line it is on so that I am reporting accurately) Mary Huntington Beach Follow Ups: ● Re: New Blind Thrust Fault Southern California??? - Canie 22:45:16 - 11/3/2001 (10687) (0) |
