Long Beach airport isn't very big - which is very nice to fly in and out of. Easy access. It was originally build in 1923. McDonnal-Douglas now Boeing has facilities there. Beoing builds the 717 and the C17 at this location. It serves a lot of private aircraft and a few Airlines. Oh yes, Fedex and UPS also have facilities there. Its about 1,166 acres in size. The runway at 10,000 feet is too small for much other than the MD80's, 717's and C17's - I don't think it will be expanded. The ELF project is sitting in my dining room waiting to be put together...
