Hi Canie,

Thanks. I just love those kinds of stories. It reminds me so much of what its like to tell someone you just heard an ear tone and they insist on telling you, you have tinitus. You can tell them a hundred times your ears are not ringing, that you heard a single sound and yet, they don't get it.

I wonder in your contacts case if perhaps if the depth of the earthquake was not very deep if perhaps he was actually hearing a slow earthquake in the process, until it finally broke and took the lunge.

That rather gave me an idea about Parkfield and its aseismic slip situation. I wonder if it is possible to hear this type of event in progress. The only problem is one certainly would need to be much closer to the area than I am.

I may not be totally correct here, but I believe Mary/Maya said she used to hear a sound like a wine glass where one would run their fingers around the wet edge and that was for Parkfield to the Pinnacles. I've only heard it once myself, but it was for this area. That was more than a year ago, but I think I'd remember the sound if I heard it again, but I've forgotten exactly which area it matches. Oh Gosh.

Ah, tickles the grey cells.

Petra
