That's the kind of news I've been looking for. Good, honest and straightforward. We don't know, so being prepared doesn't hurt. Thanks.

Last night we had a major power outage in this area due to blown circuits in both Northern Petaluma and Southern Rohnert Park. The best news is that it arrived at 9:30PM which was well past the dinner hour.

But,not long ago I picked up a box of small round lights one uses mostly for unlit closets. They were very inexpensive, but do provide quality lighting. They came four in a pack and each one uses four AA batteries, and I did remember to buy those as well. So, if anyone wants to add these to the household preparedness list, I'd highly recommend them. The power outage lasted for more than four hours, so that's a little long to be burning candles as they start emitting soot after the first hour or so.

Of course power outages, no matter the time of day ever arrive at the right time. I was all settled in with a nice fire going and watching an old gooly movie. Drat!
