Re: Getting a little freaked out here... |
Hi Billion, The plight of the Chinese with their loss of buildings is much the same as many other undeveloped countries. They just learn to live with whatever nature sends their way. In time they will rebuild using the same methods as before and when the next moderate quake rolls through, those buildings will collapse again. That's just the way it is there. In looking back though you have to realize the Chinese have had huge earthquakes where they've lost up to 500,000 people. Though every earthquake touches the lives of those involved, in the realm of the seismicity in China, this most recent event for them is very small. As for the UK, well it wasn't a devastating earthquake, but perhaps a wake up call to prepare because they are infrequent. Tonight, I'd say many prayers should be given that the LA area swarm just remains one of those things and doesn't bring on something worse. I am sure many of the folks down that way won't sleep well tonight. Been there, done that. Its a nervous edgy feeling and until some time passes without something more substantial occurring, then life as normal can return. To those near the City of Angeles, may you all be amazingly graced.
