The complete NOAA catalog is not on-line. Portions are available, but not local data. For local data all you need to do is request a search through this board or to me at low@luna.ngdc.noaa.gov and it will be performed quickly. We still believe that in some cases it is best to communicate with the data user in regards to the completeness and quality of the catalog, and the best way to do that is to avoid on-line data - the customer is forced to talk to a real live person about the data he/she is getting. A bit old-fashioned, but an important aspect of data usage that shouldn't be lost, I believe. On the other matter, the occurrence of the larger L.A. quakes only on Sundays certainly does prompt considerations of an artificial aspect to these events. I think this needs to be taken seriously by city hazard mitigators and urban planners. A similar sequence of quakes in Denver which did considerable damage back in the mid 1960's was ultimately tied to waste injection techniques.
