Brian, some are old normal faults that are now being reactivated partially as thrusts. Farther south, offshore Oceanside to San Diego, there are faults that has been published by others as thrusts, but that are either strike-slip, or have not been reactivated so are inactive old normal faults. The thrusts and normal faults could all, or some, have strike-slip components.
