Not sure who has that, but it's not terribly "top of the line". Six cores is Intel's current high end desktop offering. Going to the extreme, though, Intel just released their 12 core XEON chips a week ago, and AMD has 16 core chips. Just don't ask the price. (several $k per chip) My current best machine is a quad Core2 3Ghz with 4 gigs RAM, 500 gig HD. I built it close to 5 years ago and it wasn't even top of the line at that time. I guess I'm a "data horder" as 300 gigs is nothing to me. That's the free space on my main data 2 TB drive. I'll admit I don't have 300 gigs of quake related stuff, but I've got nearly 160 gigs of music, and a whopping 580 gigs of mapping data. Then there's my astrophotography collection... and the pictures I've taken number in the 10's of thousands. yeah... I'm a data horder. I don't delete much. :) Brian Follow Ups: ● Re: Earthquake Advisory– September 18, 2013 - EQF 04:37:25 - 9/20/2013 (100877) (1) ● Re: Earthquake Advisory– September 18, 2013 - Skywise 17:06:26 - 9/20/2013 (100881) (1) ● Re: Earthquake Advisory– September 18, 2013 - EQF 02:48:15 - 9/21/2013 (100884) (1) ● Re: Earthquake Advisory– September 18, 2013 - Skywise 04:46:15 - 9/21/2013 (100887) (1) ● Re: Earthquake Advisory– September 18, 2013 - EQF 09:09:26 - 9/21/2013 (100888) (0) |
