Like I said, I do an occasional scan. Nothing is ever found*. Well, nothing that has any affect on me. I have had the occasional infected file. But they won't do anything just sitting there. The code has to be executed, and since the code is never executed.... I think most problems people experience with their computers they do it to themselves. Maybe I have enough knowledge about how this all works that I inherently avoid doing those things that would cause me problems without really thinking about it. If you know doing "x" is a bad thing, you just never do "x". If you don't know, you may do "x" not being aware of the potential danger. (Roger, if you've followed my discussions elsewhere, that would be an example of an unknown unknown biting you in the arse.) Brian *of consequence. if a program is not executed, it does nothing. just because an occasional infected file sits on the hard drive doesn't mean you're infected.
