Interesting. I remember heavy rains and street flooding in Long Beach. I lived there for many years. I have observed that the place is now pretty much covered with concrete, housing, etc. and nowhere for the water to go! When I lived in Santa Barbara County, I noted that extensive greenhouse coverage also created a lot more flooding in the areas. And all that water kept getting channelled by concrete into the ocean... Now I read that the water table in the San Joaquin and Sacramento Valley is dropping due to over pumping. Of course, the population of this state has gone from about 18 million when I was in High School to the current 38 million...when will we learn?
