That would sure take the term "high level language" to a whole new level, wouldn't it?

The compiler for 'real language' programming would have to be pretty smart to understand the ambiguities of normal speech. English is a tough one at that. We humans have a lot of trouble understand each other as it is and we're a whole lot 'smarter' than any computer.

Any time you move away from machine code you start introducing compromises.

But, I think it all depends on the application and context.

I have to admit it would be awesome to have Star Trek style verbal interactivity with a computer for certain applications. We're getting there a bit with things like Siri on the iPhone. But even there, the computer still doesn't truly understand us. It's still just a huge pile of "if...then" algorithms. Neural networks on the other hand....
