I'd just like to add a comment on the Denver area quakes that were caused by trying to get rid of what today is believed to have been rocket propellent and nerve gas, being pumped into a well that had no seal on the bottom. High pressure equipment was in use and the fluid injection didn't just stop when they noticed there was a connection between the pumping operation and the earthquakes.

Thanks to geologist David Evans, who gathered support among the citizens of the area, that's when a noise was made loud enough that even the congressional officials decided enough was enough. I am quite certain no one knew the wells were going to leak those hazardous chemicals into the rocky structures or that they would cause earthquakes, but they did and though the earthquakes stopped occurring, no one knows if any living species were made ill or worse from the chemical leakage. Even stranger; it took them 15 years before they capped off the wells. That fact surprises me more than any other part of this story.

As I know nearly nothing about these two chemicals I'm not sure if they have any oilyness or what, but I'm sure glad no ones greasing up the RCF.
