Usually I don't post whole emails, but should be OK to post the one below. I'll try and watch it at some point and report back here. See below and the link. I just finished working most days of last 3 weeks on a proposal to NSF on West Antarctic Ice Sheets (paleo-bathymetry on which Ice sheets might grow and collapse between 34 and 17 million years ago). Glad to see that Brian did the first post after about 10 days of no posts by anyone here. Chris For further information, please go to: http://thiniceclimate.org
-------------------- The global launch of a film entitled "Thin Ice: The Inside Story of Climate Science" will take place on Earth Day, Monday, 22 April 2013. The film aims to give people from all walks of the life the chance to see the astonishing range of human activity and as scientific endeavor required to help us understand our changing climate. In recent years climate science has come under increasing attack, so geologist Simon Lamb took his camera to find out what is really going on. For over three years he followed scientists from a wide range of disciplines at work in the Arctic, Antarctic, Southern Ocean, New Zealand, Europe, and the U.S. They talk about their work, their hopes, and their fears with a rare candor and directness. This creates an intimate portrait of the global community of researchers racing to understand our planet's changing climate, and provides a compelling case for rising CO2 as the main cause. On April 22nd, the film will be available for free both online (http://thiniceclimate.org/watch-the-film) and at screenings around the world (22-23 April). Starting Wednesday, 24 April 2013, the film will be available online for a small fee. For a list of venues or information on hosting a free screening, please go to: http://thiniceclimate.org/launch.
