ID (Island Daughter) and I drove 2000 km last weekend from the heartland to the island, towing a 1 ton U-Haul trailer with among others sentimental house plants. I'm going to have a much better life here: what a deeply screwed up department we were involved with at Heartland University ("in my opinion" at advice of lawyer). Very screwed up things happen in the Ivory Tower. Totally unrelated, the day before I left Heartland, I received emails that my California university was subpoenad by National Science Foundation and that one my grants was on the list. This was comical in a sad sort of way. On that project I worked 2 or 3 times what I was funded for.

So, Brian, you cannot delete this post because it is subject to the subpoena.

Children: Run, run far and hard: you don't want to go near this career. Go into earth science and get a high paying job with industry where you dig really big holes, or find more hydrocarbons so we can burn them even faster and create a very different world even faster.
