Sure you don't mean magnitude 6? Which is the limit of dark adapted vision? I've heard of a few people with good eyes getting down to 6.5. Anyway, when I took my pictures, it was supposed to be mag 5.6, but with the twilight it was pretty washed out. I hope ISON later this year lives up to the hype. I was nonplussed with Hale-Bopp and Halley back in their days, but Hyakutake was splendid, spreading more than halfway across the night. Then there was McNaught in 2007 that I caught in broad daylight about a fists width form the sun, naked eye. Brian
