The clock location is just temporary. I think it would be better placed down at the bottom with the new message form. There's many reasons I think having it on the page is useful.

For one thing, predictions are time based, and knowing what time it is I hope will prevent folks from accidentally posting the wrong date/time/zone on their predictions, thus reducing arguments of what the prediction window is.

Also, since you can select the time zone, it makes translating from one to another a little easier.

Finally, it does not use the time on the server or your computer. It is the accurate atomic time, so you can use it to reset your computer clock in case it's not correct.

Anyway, I've been giving thought to redesigning the posting form section. Since there's a lot there, especially with the prediction section, it's very long.

Right now the board is designed to be about 900 pixels wide - the size of the brown bars. What I was thinking was making the board a bit wider, and then sliding the prediction parameters to the right of the message box so they are side by side. Theoretically, you can then see all the entry forms at once.

But, I don't know how wide people's viewing preferences are. Obviously 900 pixels was considered large many years ago when standard monitors were 1024x768. But now they are commonly much bigger. Personally, I have a 1920x1080 monitor, and run my browser full screen, but I'm sure not everyone does this. So, I would like to hear what others viewing screen habits are. I was only thinking of widening the board to maybe 1100 pixels.

Oh, and if people want things to just stay the way they are, I'd like to hear that too. I want to make things better if possible, but need feedback so I don't get crazy. I don't want to inadvertently force my ideas on everyone. I'd understand if the look and feel is what makes folks comfortable here and don't like the idea of change.

Oh, one last thing. I know the quake and volcano links are old/bad. I will update those shortly. But, I don't know of a good volcano link since I don't follow them much. Suggestions would be appreciated.
