TalkShop (which EB runs on) is indeed based on WWWBoard. As implemented on EB, though, it's even further modified. Keep in mind that if you keep adding features, you may end up with or pretty close to something else that already exists. It becomes a 'why re-invent the wheel' thing. It might just be easier to search for existing BBS code that is already close to what you want and modify that. Another thought is, keep adding features and you move away from the simplicity of WWWBoard (or TalkShop) which is why they are still used; and why some participants like these simple forums over more complex web sites. One thing I personally want to avoid is making too many changes too quickly. A little change here, another one later, give time for everyone to adjust. Heck, I'm still getting familiar with the existing code.
