If you care to be fair about this issue, review the string of messages between LW and I more carefully and you should be able to identify an increasing level of "carnage" left on both sides of the issue. If I remember correctly, he got offended first at essentially nothing, which is not a satisfactory way to begin a debate. If I remember correctly, he also landed the first blow: check his response to a fairly innocuous message of mine in a followup he titled, "The Only Good Science is P.C. Science"--thus upping the level of "carnage" by several orders of magnitude.
