I know where the pond is - its not too far from where I live. I have never heard of its levels being used as an earthquake guide. We have been having quite a heat wave here until the last few days - that pond is very near the Ocean as well - its part of the Bolsa Chica Wetlands area. Its really rather small (hence the name 'pond')
