Puente Hills Fault |
I recently read about it on disasterrelief.org, and although the original article was posted in March of 1999, I wonder if predictions can be made for blind thrust faults. I live in downtown LA (the fault runs 12.5 miles wide and nearly 25 miles long under downtown Los Angeles, through Santa Fe Springs and into the Coyote Hills of northern Orange County), so I'm naturally concerned. I also live in an old 1920's warehouse turned loft - and occassionally question its structural integrity. Has anyone heard anything on this one? If so, what's the scoop?
