Hi Don - I'd probably like to look at a topo map of the area but my guess would be that the fault does run down to the Tejon Pass area - considering that the 'great valley' does too..It surely runs along the mountain/hills there and if the mountain or hills keep going - well then the thrust fault would too. Does the range disappear that is the Great Valley thrust or does it continue?

As for thrust faults and strike-slip faults having association - YEP - there are lots of thrust faults associated with strike slip faults - they run along-side of them - I try to think of the land like a layer of cloth - take a portion of the cloth (in the middle) and move it as if there were a strike-slip fault there in the middle - what happens to the cloth around that movement? It bunches up - well, the bunching is the thrust faults - we've got lots of them down here in the LA Basin.

I don't recall exactly what article I was reading but someone recently published about the relationship between strike-slip and thrust faults - I hadn't thought it was a new idea.... I've seen lots of associations.
