I'm unsure why you feel the Trinidad, CO quakes have an affect on the Garlock fault. That's considerable mileage.

Not taking anything away from your thought process on this quake, personally, I'd look for a cluster or swarm of quakes or some other kind of unusual activity before I would think a very large quake was going to occur. It just seems to me I've seen this sort of thing before. One single quake and then nothing follows.

Of course if you know the area and are closer in proximity, you may have looked at it more indepth than I have.
