Hi Lowell,

I just got the NEIC bulletin listing it as 5.8. My only question is, why haven't I been hearing tones for these quakes. Normally I could hear a 4.5, so why not these larger events? My radar must be affected in some way. It is most peculiar. The only thing I can think of is that because they are deep under water the electrical sound changes.

Just now I remembered the PBS special they did on the scentists who were in charge of monitoring Pinatubo. What a great group. When the seismograph was going rail to rail, it was getting darn scary and one of them made popcorn. Another said to him, "why are you eating popcorn now?" The popcorn consumer said, "I always eat popcorn at this point in the movie?" I wonder what they Canadian scientists are eating at this time of the night? Pizza anyone?
