Hi Lowell,

How marvelous to have snow! Don and I noticed a distinct change in our weather today. It felt like autumn and tonight we both noticed how it was getting darker much earlier. The trees here are beginning to lose their leaves, which is about a month early. It does seem as though winter will arrive a lot earlier than last year.

Meanwhile, the ants have been hard at work doing whatever they do. I have a constant stream of them running across my patio. No matter how much I spray, they return to the same path.

My cats, Baby and Mr. Peaches have yet to put on more hair. Baby already has a full coat of black hair, but Mr. Peaches, who is orange striped, has remained with his summer coat. He's the outdoor one and Baby is the indoor one. Go figure?

I adopted these two brothers when they were 8 weeks old and they are rather special. They have corkscrew tails that are short, but not as short as a manx. So what one see's is a puff at the end where a tail should be. Both are long hair and are very affectionate. They love Don. He is often treated to one or both of them sleeping with him at night. It gets a little tight on the couch, but he doesn't really mind.

Thanks for sharing a day in Zima's life. Its quite unique and very special.
