Hi K2. I have no idea what you might be referring to when you say there has been a steam flow from Mt. Rainier. I can see it from out the window of my house and look at it through some great binoculars quite frequently and haven't seen anything like what you describe. Mt. Baker steams all the time and on clear, still days you can see the steam and they always show it on the news when it's visible. I agree that Mt. Rainier has active fumaroles, etc. I just haven't seen anything that I personally would describe as a "steam flow" coming from Rainier.
