It has been pointed out to me that both the coast of So. America and the Moluccas where earthquakes of Mw>=6 have occurred in the past two days were among the areas listed as likely to experience increased seismicity after the X5.3 solar flare several days ago (see post #9101 below). The increased seismic hazard listed in that post was for areas near the geomagnetic equator (Both the Moluccas and northern Chile lie near the geomagnetic equator) and for areas within 20 degrees of longitude of 65W and 115E - the Chile earthquake occurred at 69-70W, the Moluccas at 126E. Sorry about that oversight.
