NEIS is reporting a strong (Mw 6.1) earthquake in Panama this morning. This
earthquake was 102 degrees from the New Zealand Mw 7.1 at the shadow-zone
boundary where seismic energy is concentrated by internal reflections and refractions.
The far-field forecast had said:
"103-106 degrees***: Central Colombia*, Panama"

Other far-field aftershocks occurred today in New Britain, Bismarck Sea and
Hokkaido. Things might get interesting with the X5.3 flare adding to the
picture.
