SUMMIT HEIGHT 16480 FT (5023 M)

SOURCES OF INFORMATION: GOES-8 VISIBLE AND MULTISPECTRAL IMAGERY.
UPPER-AIR DATA FROM THE GEOFISICO INSTITUTO. AVIATION MODEL UPPER
AIR WIND DATA..
ERUPTION DETAILS: CONTINUOUS STEAM AND ASH EMISSIONS WITH NEW
ERUPTION AROUND 20/1200 UTC

DETAILS OF ASH: VISIBLE AND MULTISPECTRAL SATELLITE IMAGERY
INDICATED THAT THE ASH CLOUD FROM THE 1200 UTC ERUPTION HAS
PROGRESSED STEADILY TOWARD THE WEST SOUTHWEST. AT 20/1915 UTC THE
ASH CLOUD WAS CENTERED NEAR 2.2S/79.9W WITH A RADIUS OF ABOUT 20 KM
(11 NMI). THE ASH TOPS WERE ESTIMATED TO BE BETWEEN FL300 AND
FL350. THIS ASH CLOUD WAS SLOWLY BECOMING MORE DIFFUSE.
THUNDERSTORMS HAVE DEVELOPED OVER THE SUMMIT AND IN THE SURROUNDING
VICINITY PRECLUDING DETECTION OF ASH HOWEVER METAR REPORTS FROM SELT
INDICATED ASH OVER THE VOLCANO AS RECENTLY AS 1700 UTC.

This could be what has been causing many to be experiencing nausea, which I just had a wave of go through a few ago.
