When life gets dreary and drab its time to learn something new. In my last post I told you that I watched the landscaper mow my lawn. So Sunday afternoon looked like it was my turn. I have to tell you, one of my greatest fears has always been that when I used the lawn mower, I might cut off my toes, so to say I was a little apprehensive, well you know. At first I thought, well I could put on my bikini, get out the lawnmowever, stand over it looking puzzled and hope someone would come along to help, but then I thought maybe not.

So I put on my geology boots, got out the lawn mower, and noticed it had that plate at the bottom so it wasn't possible to cut your toes off. Wow, what a relief. So I read the instructions, put on the leaf bag, set all the dials, pulled the little string, and in an instant it was running. Next I put it in gear and that's when the trouble started. It was going so fast, I couldn't keep up with it. I'm saying "where's the steering wheel, where's reverse, and please, where's the brakes!" I thought I was going to mow a whole block of lawns. Then I remembered to let go of the lever on the handle and it stopped. Whew!

I wheeled it back to the driveway and looked at the controls again and decided I had done something wrong, so I tried to start it again, but it was flooded. So my neighbor came over and said he would help and I said, "great". After a few lessons I mowed the entire lawn, not like most I'm sure, but every blade was cut.

As you can see, something so simple as mowing my lawn becomes an adventure. I wished you all could have been here to see this, you wouldn't have believed it.
