I did some research on crocodilians and found
that they are in almost all tropical areas. The
ones in my dream had pointy noses so were not
alligators but either crocodiles or caimens.
There are alligators in slightly more northern
latitudes like Florida and China. Crocodiles
are more equatorial, but quite abundant - Africa,
South America, and Indonesia amongst other areas.
So this is little clue except that it isn't
Florida or China. I would still go with my
impression of Central America because of the
general low elevation or possibly Indonesia or
the Phiippines. I believe that the Philippine
plate is being pushed up, so I would rule that
one out. That leaves two areas, but I still don't
have any time scale on it, so we might as well
consider it as too vague for right now.
