There was a sinkhole reported on the 405 today at the 605 freeway . This is about where the Newport-Inglewood runs through the area.

I haven't been able to find any further info on this - has anyone got an idea why the sinkhole was there ? It could have been another broken pipe problem (something had to erode the soil for a sinkhole to form...)
