Earthquake/Aftershock slowdown - is this normal? And Stress...

I just checked USGS and the number of earthquakes reported overnight, especially in the aftershock zone, seem to have dropped sharply. Also, I was talking to Will Fletcher last night and we both noted that the stress levels in the Santa Clarita Valley seem higher than to the south. Anyone north or NW/NE have any observations?
