I was just looking for another word that meant
the same as precede. What I meant was that
after watching the global lists for several
years there seems to be certain areas that get
active before a larger quake. It doesn't happen
every time, but I'm thinking it may have
something to do with releasing or increasing
pressure in other areas. The simplest example
would be to imagine what is happening and what
may result. The Kuril Islands and Kamchatka
area have the Pacific plate subducting under
them. When it moves, this may allow something
across the plate to move. But it also may put
pressure on something else on the same side
of the plate that was right on the breaking
point. As a mid-ocean ridge expands it may do
something similar, either cause something else
to occur farther down the ridge or something
across the plate. It this case it could just
as well be Japan, but I was combining this
with my recent dreams, as sometimes the
subconscious knows things better than the
conscious. Not very scientific, but it seems
to work for me for now.
