Hi Joan.

Interestingly enough - 'they' have determined that this IS NOT a pipeline leak ! They are considering that it is coming from la Brea Tar Pits ! Here is what they said:

``We've been able just to rule out the oil companies' pipelines, so it looks like maybe a natural seep. It's coming from the area of the La Brea tar pits,'' said Coast Guard spokeswoman, Lt. Jeanne Reincke.

I don't know about anyone else's opinion, but I sure don't like all the strange stuff that has bene happening - oil seeps, broken water mains, etc.

Within 1 block of my office in the last 2 weeks or so (on signal hill) there has been a spill of the Odor agent used in natural gas, powerlines down (last sunday) and this morning someone jumped off the overpass onto the freeway which resulted in the 405 being shut down in both directions.

I'm off to Dallas for a couple days - I'll be back late Friday evening so you all have a good time without me ! (I've noticed quakes like to happen when I'm out of town !)
