You know, you never know what is going to happen next. Went to see my dad yesterday and we decided to play it cool since he had awaken with heart flutterings. We had a nice day visiting. Then I started my journey home. Got 3/4s down the road, then everything went dead in my car and I had to coast to side of the road. Now, I don't have AAA, so I called my dad. He came down, called AAA and the tow truck moved my car off PCH to the 76 station across the street and said I couldn't have broken down in a better spot. Course, I didn't think so at the time until I thought I could have broken down on the freeway and that would have been a real dangereous mess. My dad took me back to his place where I spent the night worrying about my poor cats, Chip and me being without my BP medication.

But I thanked God for seeing to it that no one ran into my car while it was almost in traffic on PCH and asked Him to watch over my cats. Worry went away and I slept soundly. This morning dad and I got up and went back down to the 76 station, where they had determined that I needed a new alternator, but it would take to 1:00 to remove and replace it because they had to order a new one to be brought over. I said; "Oh my, I have a diabetic cat and he's now missed two shots and I need my BP medication." My dad said; "Get the part and do the best you can."

While they waited for the part, they took the old one out and had me on my way by 10:45. Chip and cats were no worse for wear. My BP had only gone from 137/88 to 160/100 by the time I got to my meds and I didn't think that was too bad considering...

Now, I am home safe and sound, my car is fixed, which my dad decided to pay for and only three volcanoes have gone off since I left here yesterday.

I learned a big lesson. When the warning light goes on for an alternator, don't think you can drive the distance as long as you don't stop the car...as you once could do with generators...and if you are so foolish, ask God to watch over you!
