So sorry to hear of your friends misfortune. I know what they must be going through now having gone through fires in Malibu and seeing some of my friends lose everything. I hope they were insured. Won't bring back the memories in things they lost, but will help them rebuilt their place.

As for the radon gas, that was, also, mentioned in the recent documentry on the Discovery Ch.. They said, when it rises, watch for a quake and this goes with the activity I have been watching, from time to time, along the New Madrid, which is in critical now and could get a large foreshock for bigger activity in March.
